Abdul Malik-Ahad
NHS OLDHAM has a new man on the board — Abdul Malik-Ahad.
The married Chadderton father-of-three is in the first month of a four-year-post as non-executive director.
He was chosen for the £7,765-a-year role by the appointments commission.
Mr Malik-Ahad (35), is an executive director of Capital Consult Group, an Oldham-based consultancy and training company which works with both the public and voluntary sector.
He said: “Most of the work I’ve done since the age of 16 has involved working to improve people’s lives through community development, ranging from education to housing and regeneration, and arts.”
He works with a number of charities, and is chairman of the Oldham-based theatre company for young people, Peshkar productions.
Mr Malik-Ahad added: “I also have a passion and commitment for supporting people who have been socially excluded.”
Riaz Ahmad, chairman of NHS Oldham, formerly Oldham Primary Care Trust, said: “Abdul’s management skills and his dedication to helping improve local people’s lives and health, will, I am sure, help us move forward.”
