TEAMwork proved the key to success during a week of action in Primrose Bank.

Officers from the West Oldham neighbourhood policing team worked with firefighters, Street Scene workers, Groundwork, trading standards staff and the Community Safety Unit to address crime and environmental issues in the area.

Increased police patrols and the presence of the mobile police station has helped to reassure residents that they can feel safe in their community.

Insp Alan Humphries, West Oldham area inspector, said: “The aim is to reduce crime levels, anti- social behaviour and to provide community reassurance. By bringing together different agencies we have been able to address residents’ issues in one go with much success. We will continue to carry out operations like this throughout the West Oldham area.

“The Primrose Bank area is currently undergoing major redevelopment and this operation has been about supporting residents during this time.”

The next phase of the operation will take place in the Oxford Street area of Werneth from Monday.
