Colleagues of popular court usher Christine Goodrich scored a hit with their retirement surprise.
The lifelong Latics fan and season ticket holder from Chadderton was presented with a signed team football by full-back Kelvin Lomax on her last day at Oldham County Court.
Christine, a mother and grandmother, was shocked and delighted by the surprise, which rounded off 22 years’ service at the court, first in Church Lane, Oldham, then at the new building in Rochdale Road.
Christine is a National Trust member and will be spending more time visiting trust properties and gardens.
But her first holiday will be following another passion — she is visiting Graceland in Memphis, USA, the home of her rock idol, Elvis Presley, in February.
