Hulme opposes parish cost rise
Date published: 26 January 2009
Saddleworth parish councillor Ken Hulme will oppose a proposed increase in the parish council precept at a meeting tonight.
He said any rise was unacceptable, pointing out that Saddleworth residents already paid one of the highest council taxes in the country.
Councillor Hulme said times were hard and, if anything, Saddleworth Parish Council should be looking at ways of cutting the precept.
