New dean reflects UCO growth

DEDICATED dean . . . Sue Bernhauser
THERE are two new names at University Campus Oldham.
Sue Bernhauser has been appointed dean of the institution, part of Huddersfield University... which has changed its name from University Centre Oldham.
It’s the first time Oldham has had a dedicated dean as Mrs Berhauser’s predecessor, Professor Tim Thornton, also covered Huddersfield’s Barnsley campus.
Mrs Berhauser is also dean of the school of human and health sciences at Huddersfield University, and has already met with colleagues at Oldham College, Oldham Sixth Form College, Oldham Primary Care Trust and Oldham Council.
She is impressed with the progress made by the campus which was opened by “Star Trek” actor Patrick Stewart in 2005. He also launched its £5.5 million extension last year.
Debbie Bridge, head of UCO, said: “The new appointment reflects the growth in the campus.”
