RED Bar regulars could be forgiven for thinking they had walked into a cartoon wonderland when they called in for a pint.
For 50 Oldham Sixth Form College students turned into fictitious characters for the night which saw them net £500 for charity.
The A-level leisure students dressed as everything from Batman to Bill and Ben the flowerpot men to get regulars at the Failsworth pub in the mood.
They raised the cash with a quiz, a best-dressed competition and raffles.
And this week they plan to boost the pot, which will go to “Help for Heroes” — a charity which helps people wounded in Britain’s current conflicts, with an auction of sports items donated by students.
Student Rachel Bullock, who is fundraising co-ordinator, said “We wanted to help people who have lost limbs or become disabled through wars. And we had a really good night doing it.”
