More fraud charges for Miller

Date published: 02 February 2009

Kitchen company boss Vance Miller, and associate Alan Ford have been remanded in custody charged with more fraud offences.

They appeared before Oldham magistrates on Friday and the case was sent to Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, for a date to be fixed.

The new charges, of conspiracy to commit fraud, are in addition to fraud charges they already face.

Oldham Trading Standards officers first raided Mr Miller’s premises in November, 2006.
The new charges relate to the period since the raid when the business identity changed from “Kitchens” to “Rock Solid Kitchens”.

They follow the arrest of Mr Miller three weeks ago, on January 11, and a further raid on his business premises at the Maple Mill, Hathershaw. Ford was arrested three days later.

Miller (45), of Cemetery Road, Ramsbottom, and Ford (41), of Firbank Close, Ashton, were both charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation and conspiracy to commit fraud by failing to disclose information on Thursday.

Both have previously been charged with similar offences and are awaiting trial before Manchester Crown Court, due to start on September 14.
