OLDHAM Council has appointed a new assistant executive director for children and young people.
Michael Jameson joins Oldham from Stockport Council, where he is a service director.
He has previous experience with Blackburn with Darwen, Wigan, Bolton and Lancashire councils. Mr Jameson will work with Veronica Jackson, recently appointed executive director for people communities and society, and will take statutory responsibility for children’s services.
Mrs Jackson said: “I’m delighted to welcome Michael as part of the team. I’m confident that he will bring valuable experience of children’s services and play an important role in helping us to focus on delivering better services targeted to the needs of our communities.”
