LONG way from home . . . Betty the King Charles spaniel may be in Oldham
This bonny little King Charles spaniel is from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but is believed to have been stolen and brought to Oldham.
Distraught owner Julie Greener is desperate to get her back.
Betty, who has no collar on, disappeared from Julie’s garden on Sunday, although her other dog, a German Shepherd, was left behind.
Julie said: “There’s a 7ft fence around the garden, so she’s not jumped over it.
“Neighbours spotted a man with a dog under his coat, and saw him going to a near-by house.”
When Julie went to Northumbria Police, inquiries revealed that the man was from Greater Manchester. And when Tyneside colleagues checked with local police, he was found to live in Oldham. Now Julie is hoping readers will help her get the black, white and tan pooch back.
Julie added: “I have called all the vets in Oldham and checked with local dog wardens and shelters. I have three children and they are all pining for her. We are so worried.
Anyone with information should call Julie on 01670- 524 131, or 07894-426840.
