NIGHT school art students saw their work coming out of the classroom and thrust into the spotlight in a major exhibition in Saddleworth.
Around 30 drawings from the exhibition entitled “Drawn from Life” went up for sale at the Millgate Centre, Delph, on Saturday.
The 24 class members all attend renowned Delph artist John McCombs’s art class in Uppermill, which he has run for 42 years.
Mr McCombs said: “This is a serious class which has always attracted good quality, hard working artists, some of whom travel from as far afield as Barnsley, Bolton, Sheffield and Manchester.
“I have always found teaching them enjoyable and very rewarding.”
All the drawings showcased are from a series of clothed subjects over a lengthy period of time.
They can be seen at the arts centre during the performances of the play “Make Way for Lucia Year”, from 7-10pm. The play and the exhibition runs until Saturday.
