RELAX . . . meditation teacher David Robinson with his class
IF you want to find inner peace and overcome stress, meditation may just be the thing for you.
David Robinson has been teaching the relaxation technique for over two years, with fellow teacher Gen Kelsang Tubchen.
Run from a terrace house in Court Street, Uppermill, the drop-in centre is open to anyone, regardless of age or beliefs.
Mr Robinson explained: “The sessions have been running in this building for four years, but overall it has been going for nine years.
“It was set up by a group of people who had been going to meditation classes in the Uppermill area before.
“It was later decided that we should find an alternative building because of the high number of people attending.”
Ten to 20 members attend the classes which are held on Mondays and Tuesdays, 7-8.30pm.
Lunch time sessions are run on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12.15-12.45pm, with lunch provided.
Mr Robinson added: “The sessions are open to everyone. It’s not just for Buddhists. Our aim is to help people and we believe meditation is the best way to relax and gain inner peace and overcome stress.”
