Burglary alert
Date published: 13 February 2009
Grasscroft residents are being warned to stay vigilant following a spate of burglaries in the area.
Police said that although a man was being held in custody accused of a burglary on January 24, four more break-ins had taken place in properties in Oldham Road and Mossley Road since February 4.
During one incident, the raiders were disturbed and made off in a silver Audi A3.
Insp Danny Milovanovic, from the Saddleworth and Lees Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I would remind residents to remain vigilant, and report any suspicious incidents to the police.
“Please keep your doors and windows locked and set house alarms, keeping car keys and other valuable items out of view.”
