OLDHAM Council began repairing the damaged road surface on Coal Pit Lane, Limeside, today .
The work is scheduled to last for six weeks and the road will remain closed throughout this period.
Following an inspection, the structure of the road was found to be in very poor condition due to running water within the road’s foundations, and poor ground conditions and can no longer be patched.
Service Director for Highways and Operational Services, Tony Noblet said: “The work to repair the roadway will dramatically improve the surface.”
Access to the houses on Lower Lime Road will be from Stannybrook Road and White Brook Road and can be accessed from Ashton Road.
