All the fun of the fair
Date published: 17 February 2009
A TRAVELLING funfair set up camp in Hollinwood on Friday and tried to re-create the atmosphere of Blackpool.
There was a children’s beach and many of the rides and attractions you would expect to see at the seaside, with free donkey rides, clowns, and stilt-walkers.
The travelling fair set up camp opposite the old Roxy cinema site in Manchester Road, where a 100 ft ferris wheel dominates the skyline, proving a big draw for youngsters .
The fair is back after its half-term success last year, and will be on the site until March 1, complete with free children’s entertainment every day until 7pm.
Jan de-Koning, of de-Koning Leisure, said: “This year the seaside theme will be stronger than ever.”
