Students on a roll with art

ALL wrapped up . . .toilet roll art
The group took inspiration from artist-team Christo and Jeanne-Claude, who specialise in swathing buildings in fabric.
But the Year 13 art and design students at Oldham Sixth Form College worked on a slightly smaller scale than the couple, who have tackled Berlin’s Reichstag, cliffs and other huge objects.
Instead, they wrapped a double bass in 13 rolls of toilet paper, to create the piece described as “an artistic composition with a musical twist”.
The work was part of the extra-curricular Aim Higher course to encourage talented art students to apply to university and college.
Another of their projects was an 8ftx4ft Jackson Pollock-inspired “drip” painting. The students who worked with aim higher art tutor Malcolm Stanbra were Hannah Barnes, Niall Bluer, Robert Carter, Patricia Cartner, Diane Kwan, Aliyah Razaq, Leyya Sattar and Laura Whittaker.
