PINK POWER . . . Captain Sean Gregan with fans
LATICS’ fans have gone pink — and now they want their supporters to follow suit for the big televised clash with Leeds United that is now only six days away.
The pink fans in question were a gift from long-time Latics supporter Paul Greenough, of Trafford Park’s EHS International — a Prem-I-Air distributor — to add to the fund-raising effort for the new Victoria breast cancer unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
Latics have donated the fans to the unit but not before the fans held a special photocall to urge fellow fans to don as much pink as possible to back Latics in the big Sky game on Monday at which the team will play in a specially-designed all pink kit to publicise the Link4Pink appeal.
Latics hope that fans will enter into the spirit of the evening by dressing up in pink to back their team.
They have also put out an appeal for local companies that might be able to help them with “anything pink” that can be distributed to fans on the way in to make sure the “Come on you Pinks” night receives maximum TV exposure.
