Failsworth blitz
Date published: 25 February 2009
POLICE in Failsworth and Hollinwood are focusing on community crime this week during a week of action.
Residents are invited to speak to local officers tomorrow when the mobile police station parks up at Tesco, Ashton Road West, Failsworth, between 10am and 3pm.
Officers will be on hand to provide crime prevention advice and listen to resident’s concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour in their area.
A number of events have taken place throughout the week including two Crucial Crews for Older People, which help address the fear of crime, and safe plate initiatives to stop vehicle number plate thefts.
Known offenders are being targeted across the area and extra patrols will be in place to provide reassurance to residents and deter criminals.
The week of action is part of Operation Resolute, Oldham Division’s crackdown on burglary, robbery and vehicle crime.
