Driver’s booze shame
Date published: 25 February 2009
A BOOZY night out led to an Oldham driver being banned from the road for two years at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.
Daniel Wilds (26), of Station Mews, Failsworth, was also fined £420 for driving while three times over the limit.
He was arrested after being followed into a Newton Heath fast-food car park at 2.30am on February 9.
Arthur Mould, defending, said Wilds had been drinking heavily every night since an “upsetting event” at the end of last year.
“He now intends to seek professional help for his alcohol problem.” added Mr Mould.
Wilds, never previously in trouble, was ordered to pay £60 court costs.
