PUPILS at St Joseph’s School can’t wait to get stuck into a good book — now that their library has benefited from a £10,000 revamp.
Youngsters are now flocking to the library at the Shaw school after it was kitted out with new carpets and shelves and 2,000 new books.
The new library was made possible by money raised through fundraising initiatives throughout the year by the PTA, including a summer fair and race nights.
Deputy head Steve Hill said: “The new library has made the children really enthusiastic about reading. For them there’s nothing more exciting than shelves full of new books.
“We’re really grateful to the PTA for making it possible.”
