Oldham’s finest sing
Date published: 04 March 2009
A FEAST of the borough’s finest musical talents will entertain revellers at the Oldham Sings Again event at Oldham Parish Church on Sunday, March 8, featuring Oldham Choir and Oldham Youth Choir.
It will also be one of the last chances for Dr Eileen Bentley MBE, director of Oldham Music Centre, to conduct the youth choir before she retires in summer.
Oldham Choir grew out of the first Oldham Youth Choir, which was founded by James Wilds in 1960, and some of the original members are still singing today.
The concert starts at 7.30 pm and tickets, which are £5, can be reserved on 01457-873568 or bought at the door. All proceeds will go to the Oldham Parish Church Restoration Fund.
