Chip sells for 99p

BIDDING is over for a sprouting McDonald’s chip on eBay.
Chadderton policeman Matthew Young placed the item on the auction site after discovering it at the chain’s High Street store in Oldham and betting his wife, Sarah, that he could sell any rubbish online.
The deadline for offers was 5pm yesterday and the chip has now been officially sold to a mystery bidder for 99p.
Dozens of people have viewed the chip and even asked questions such as what kind of potato it was cut.
Matthew (30) said: “Ebay is the ultimate forum for selling rubbish. I didn’t get as much as I was hoping for but it has definitely caused quite a lot of interest and has definitely proved my point.”
