Framework for Oldham’s future
Date published: 05 March 2009
OLDHAMERS are being asked for their views to help create a masterplan that will shape the future of the borough.
The council is working on the Local Development Framework (LDF) which will act as a guide for future projects and land use in Oldham.
With a life span of up to 20 years, the plan will provide a vision, policy and guidance on key issues such as where new houses and jobs should be located.
The team preparing the plan have reached an important stage — the Core Strategy Preferred Options — and want as many people as possible to have their say.
Exhibitions will be taking place at various locations including Area Committee meetings, Spindles shopping centre, Oldham College, Oldham Sixth Form College and University Campus Oldham.
The document can be viewed online at www.oldham.gov.uk, at all local libraries, Civic Centre Planning Reception (Level 12), Civic Centre Access Oldham and Oldham Business Centre, Cromwell Street.
Comments need to be received by 5pm on Friday, April 17. Contact the Strategic Planning and Information department on 0161-770 4151/4163/1672 for more information.
