A PRESTIGIOUS Oldham coach firm is spending a recession-busting £2million to replace half its fleet.
Swans Travel Ltd, based on Broadway Business Park in Chadderton, has bought 15 Mercedes Benz Tourismo coaches, which are more fuel efficient than the older models they have replaced.
The purchase was funded with a loan from Lombard, the asset finance arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
The company is owned by the Swindells family and its clients include professional sports clubs, schools, colleges, universities and corporate customers including airlines and hotel chains.
The new vehicles comprise half of the fleet of 30 coaches.
Managing director Kieran Swindells said: “We aim to provide quality and economical transport for our customers and to achieve this it is essential that we continually invest in our fleet.
“The new coaches reflect the company’s quality image and our strategy is to always have the most modern vehicles while considering our impact on the environment.”
The family business was established more than 30 years ago and has expanded rapidly in recent years into one of the region’s premier travel operations.
It moved headquarters three years ago when it increased its fleet of coaches from eight to 18.
The company then become the first to score 100 per cent in their CoachMarque audit to reassure customers of a first class service.
