Appliance of science brings a little animal magic

Lessons were whizz-bang at Roundthorn School as pupils took part in Science Week.
Teachers wore white lab coats and a variety of visitors brought the many aspects of science into the Roundthorn Road Community Primary School.
As well as a visit to Gallery Oldham for a workshop on materials and textures, pupils met a group called Sphere Science who carried out sessions on spaces and forces in school. Normal lessons were suspended as children carried out scientific experiments and investigations, and got up close with the natural world with Milton Holdcroft, the Animal Man.
Milton, from the Natural History Lecture Service, took along furry friends including a chinchilla and a Chilean rose tarantula.
