Business Watch seeks new recruits
Date published: 10 March 2009
AN innovative project that unites employers, employees and residents is on the lookout for new members.
Business Watch follows the same format as Home Watch and aims to recruit members to be the eyes and ears of the community.
Police will team up with NHS Oldham and the council in the drive to get more members on board.
Peter Lee, Watch Scheme administrator at Greater Manchester Police’s Oldham Division, said: “By working together businesses can help reduce crime in their area by looking out for any suspicious and reporting it to the police.
“The Southlink Business Park Business Watch already has quite a large membership, which reflects the local commitment to driving down crime and anti-social behaviour in the area. I encourage other businesses to join the scheme or set up a Business Watch in their respective area.”
David Lewis, the local security management specialist for NHS Oldham, said: “We are committed to delivering an environment that is safe and secure for our staff and patients.”
