Singing chef Simon

Diners at a Springhead pub do a double take when they meet genial singing chef Simon Farrow.
Because the soothing background music played during their meals at the Spinners Arms on Woodbrook Road, is likely to be one of Simon’s own specially-recorded CDs.
And, if they are lucky, Simon may croon the odd tune to them as he serves meals on Friday, Saturday and Sundays too.
Simon (46) has recently returned from Malta and Gozo where he operated a successful bar and restaurant business — and sang and recorded tunes.
He said: “I’ve always liked singing. It’s been a big part of my life. I like good tunes.
“But a lot of customers don’t realise they are listening to my voice when I am serving them meals. It’s a real double take.”
Spinners landlady Debbie Jones, mother of four, said: “Simon’s got a good voice and many customers are surprised when they discover he’s actually singing on the CDs.”
