A UNIVERSITY student is hoping to take part in a 250- mile cycle ride in Bangladesh to raise money for a health clinic.
Mofozzul Hussain Choudhury is also hosting a charity dinner at the Indian Ocean restaurant, Featherstall Road, Westwood, next Tuesday, at 7pm.
The 24-year-old, of Colwyn Street, Westwood, is hoping the two special events will raise £5,000 for the worthy cause.
Mofozzul, who is studying a business and management degree at the University of Huddersfield, will join a group of 10 people for the cycle ride in Greater Sylhet, Bangladesh, in April, over five days.
He said: “The health clinic is for poor people and the charity, Green Crescent, has already bought a piece of land in Habiganj, Bangladesh, and I am hoping to raise the funds to help build it.
“It will cost around £15,000 to construct, but it will need more money to run it.
“A similar clinic has already been built 350 miles from the new site, and it has been a great success.”
Tickets for the charity dinner cost £20 per person, and £13 from it will be donated to the Green Crescent charity.
