Tacking anti-social behaviour together
Date published: 12 March 2009
THE CHADDERTON neighbourhood policing team will be bringing its crime-busting skills to people’s doorsteps this week in a bid to crack down on anti-social behaviour.
The mobile police will move around the neighbourhood all this week offering members of the public advice and the chance to raise any concerns they have around crime and anti-social behaviour.
Extra patrols will also be in place throughout the week to reassure residents .
Sergeant Kam Hare said: “We will be encouraging people to speak to officers and inform us of any issues they have about crime and anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhood.
“We will also be targeting known offenders and urging residents to come forward with any information they think might help us catch criminals.
“Working with partner agencies, including Oldham Council, members of the PACT (Police and Communities Together) meeting, and local residents, we are making Chadderton a safer place to live and work. This partnership approach, combined with the visible presence of the officers out in the community, should send a clear message that we are taking firm action against those who are committing crime.”
The mobile police station will be at Morrisons in Hollinwood Avenue tomorrow, between 10am and 3pm, and on the Park Estate, from 5-9pm on Saturday.
