Boy jailed over step-sister rape

A BOY of 16 who raped his 13-year old step-sister 12 months after he was let off with a warning for molesting another relative has been jailed for two years.

The offender, who cannot be named but is from Oldham, had been offered shelter by his family — despite assaulting the eight-year-old daughter of his mother’s partner.

But after moving in with his father and his wife, the teenager struck up a close friendship with her 13-year-old daughter — offering to give her massages when they were watching TV.

Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, heard how on one occasion, he sexually assaulted her and then a few weeks later on October 13, last year, he raped her. The offence came to light after the girl told her mother who contacted police.

The boy was arrested and admitted the rape, saying he was “sexually curious”.

He pleaded guilty to rape and assault by penetration.

Phillip Boyd, prosecuting. said: “The girl mentioned something to her mother that caused her to ask if anything had happened. She said that he was giving her a massage when he took his trousers off and raped her.

“The mother went home and informed the police.”

The court heard that during interview the girl said she had been wary of the defendant when he first moved in but he had been nice to her and so she began to like him.

The boy told police he had seen it on a pornographic film and was curious about sex. The girl is now seeking counselling.

Judge Mushtaq Khokhar said: “It is clear that you had cultivated a friendship with your step-sister and started being nice — this started with the massages.

“On one occasion, it went a lot further than that. You touched her then raped her.

“The previous offence in 2007 was a similar type of sexual assault against another step-sister who was only eight-years-old.”
