THE long-awaited new gym at Crompton Pool has been officially opened by Oldham Council leader Howard Sykes.
Oldham Community Leisure has been busy expanding gym provision across the borough and the Crompton site is the latest venue to benefit from the initiative.
The pool underwent a £150,000 makeover last year and now has a 23 station gym to boost the facilities on offer.
Councillor Sykes, who tried out some of the equipment said: “We had discussions about it 12 months ago and here it is up and running — I hope people use it.”
