New eco-friendly homes and flats in Werneth are selling
THE credit crunch may be slowing down new housebuilding, but not in Werneth.
Suthers Court, next to Edward Street, is a development of 57 homes for rent and sale.
They are in the Housing Market Renewal area, and most of the first phase have already been completed and sold.
The developer will start to build the second phase next month.
The development, on a cleared site bounded by Suthers Street, Alfred Street and Parson Street, is expected to achieve the Eco-homes “very good” standard.
There are a range of properties, from two-bedroom apartments to three, four and five-bedroom houses, some for sale and 21 for rent.
All the houses will have private gardens, and a home zone will be created in which pedestrians and vehicles will have equal priority.
