TWO groups have raised a bumper £10,000 for Oldham’s Victoria Breast Care Unit.
Manchester Golf Club chipped in with £6,000 raised through golfing events for the unit’s Link for Pink Appeal, which is raising money to improve facilities and help patients.
And the money was presented at a lunch and fashion show at the White Hart, Lydgate, which raised another £4,000.
It was the second year running that the show has been organised by friends Elaine Norcross and Elizabeth Norbury, who together make up EN Fundraising. And plans are already in place to repeat the event next year.
Elaine, a former chairman of Saddleworth Ladies Fundraising Committee, decided to dedicate her personal fundraising efforts to the unit after facing her own cancer battle.
Elaine said: “Lots of people who had come last year came again. Everyone took part in everything and the money soon mounts up.
“It was fantastic and we had some really good vibes from people saying can we come again next year.”
