A GENEROUS family have made two local charities richer following a collection in memory of a loved one.
Cindy Carroll and her family regularly plant trees in memory of their loved ones through the charity Life for a Life Memorial Forests.
So when Cindy’s mum, Mary Robinson, recently died, the family collected £800 from family and friends to plant some trees in her memory. But to thank them for all their support over the years, Life for A Life chose instead to match the £800 pound-for-pound and then donate the money collected by the family to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, where Mary was looked after before she died.
Norman Armstrong-Kersh, the chief executive of the Life for a Life, said: “Cindy and her family have always been very supportive of the work we do here, so we wanted to increase the money they’d given us and share it with Dr Kershaw’s Hospice to show our appreciation.”
