THREE local swimming pools are among the best in the country.
Crompton Pool, Saddleworth Pool and Glodwick Pool scored 74 per cent, 75 per cent and 76 per cent respectively in prestigious Quest assessments.
The Sports England-backed initiative looks to raise the standards of leisure provision across the UK.
The assessment marks facilities across a number of customer issues including health and safety, cleanliness, customer care, marketing and staffing.
Each site underwent a two-day, on-site assessment along with a mystery customer visit to prove continuous improvement across all services.
They were commended with some of the top scores across the country for a first assessment.
An Oldham Community Leisure Limited (OCLL) spokesman said: “This is only the beginning of a long journey of which all the swimming pools and sports centres within OCLL have started on — and have scored well.
“A recent second round of scoring for both Royton and Oldham sports centres showed improvements had already been made. Each will be continuously monitored and will be scored again within the next two years.”
OCLL chief executive Ian Kendall said: “This is an excellent result for the staff and public. It compliments the Investors in People award that OCLL recently gained both of which demonstrates OCLL’s success in continuous improvement.”
