IN tune . . . Jayne Dixon-Wayne, with fellow flautist Andrew Nicolson, and pianist Christopher Williams
A former Hulme Grammar School pupil returned to her roots for a classical flute concert.
Jane Dixon-Wayne joined Andrew Nicolson with Christopher Williams on piano to play to a large audience of students, staff and friends. Their programme featured music by Chopin, Faure, Doppler and Rutter.
Jane, returning for her third recital at the school, lives in London and enjoys a freelance career with a wide variety of orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic.
Andrew, principal flute in the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, mesmerised the audience with his record breaking speed in Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumble Bee.” Christopher also plays with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and is in constant demand as a soloist and accompanist.
