Two arrested in drug raids

POLICE found large quantities of cannabis during raids at four properties in Failsworth.
Officers from Oldham’s Operational Support Unit and Failsworth Neighbourhood Policing Team searched four houses on Samuel Street, Woodhall Street and Whitebank Road at 8am yesterday.
A large amount of cannabis was found at a house on Samuel Street and nine mature cannabis plants were found at the house on Whitebank Road.
Police Constable Anthony Issacs, from the Failsworth Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Today’s recoveries are part of our on-going commitment to identify criminal activity in Failsworth and Hollinwood.
“This work would not be possible without the help from members of the community.
“Information from the public is vital and I would appeal to residents to continue to call police with any concerns they have about criminal activity in the area.

A 26-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis.
The woman has been bailed until May 5, pending further inquiries. The man has been bailed until May 28, pending further inquiries.
