Bloomin’ lovely
Date published: 23 March 2009
SPRING has sprung in Oldham, with thousands of daffodils, crocus, and other colourful spring flowers in full bloom.
The sudden, unseasonably warm weather has teased the plants into producing a show of flowers to brighten the borough’s parks and hedgerows.
And motorists heading in and out of town on the main routes are greeted with stunning swathes of spring flowers covering the central reservations.
Alexandra Park is a must for flower-lovers at this time of year, where you can spot pockets of colourful bulbs in full bloom, and tightly packed buds just beginning to unfurl on trees and shrubs herald the start of spring.
