Taking aim . . .

A TASTE of life in the armed forces was given to the Oldham Hulme Grammar Schools’ Contingent of the Combined Cadet Force.
Youngsters from both the Army and RAF sections spent a morning being assessed as part of their biennial review.
A range of activities was held to ensure their training reached a required level, including a platoon attack exercise and a vehicle anti-ambush drill.
Blank firing and pyrotechnics were supervised by members of the 26 Cadet Training Team, regular soldiers who train cadets at school each week.
Overseeing the review was this year’s senior reviewing officer, Col Alan Jolley TD DL, Colonel Cadets 42 (North-West) Brigade and High Sheriff of Lancashire.
