Hospice bids to boost fundraising
Date published: 25 March 2009
DR KERSHAW’S Hospice is hitting back as the credit crunch bites by recruiting a community fundraiser to boost support among Oldhamers.
Donations to the hospice have fallen by a massive 40 per cent, making it a much harder task to find the £3,500 a day needed to keep the hospice running.
Fundraisers have to collect £1.3 million each year towards the hospice’s £1.7 million running costs.
The holder of the new post will be charged with thinking up new fundraising ideas, and targeting businesses to rally support among staff and their employers.
The aim is to establish a long-term relationship and encourage companies to adopt the hospice as their ongoing charity.
Anyone who thinks the job is ideal for them should contact Jackie Conboy at the hospice on 0161-624 2727 for more information.
