PUPILS at Rushcroft Primary School hit all the right notes when a former student dropped in for a visit and treated them to a musical extravaganza.
Joshua Batty (17) has long since left Rushcroft to take up a place at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, but the musical maestro couldn’t resist calling at his old school with some Chetham pals to treat the youngsters to a performance of “Hansel and Gretel”.
Joshua showed off his talent with the flute, while his five schoolmates tackled a host of other wind instruments, including the oboe and the clarinet.
Enthusiastic Rushcroft pupils also enjoyed a workshop with the musicians, before the woodwind group showed off their own talents with a special performances for Joshua.
