Dr Denise Munro, of Huddersfield Road, Waterhead, leaves Glodwick Health Centre for a new job in East Sussex on Wednesday.
The mother-of-two started off as a GP in Park Road, Glodwick, in 1978. She moved to the now-demolished Glodwick Health Centre in Glodwick Road a year later, before moving to Southlink Business Park and finally, the new Glodwick Health Centre two years ago.
She said of her time there: “The patients have been fantastic. I have been so lucky because many of the staff have been with us for many years. I will miss everyone.”
