PLANS are afoot for an Easter extravaganza of fun and frolics for all the family.

The action-packed event is being organised by CHARISMA (Campaign for Heritage And Recreation In the Sholver and Moorside Area) and will take place on Good Friday at the Northgate pub in Sholver Green.

Attractions on the day will include an Easter egg hunt, face painting, games and competitions.

Doctor Bike will also be on hand to carry out free safety checks on visitors’ cycles.

The CHARISMA group is also holding a design competition to create a logo for the group. Anyone interested in taking part should call Gemma Russell at Groundwork on 0161-624 1444 by tomorrow.

Councillor Roger Hindle, CHARISMA chairman, said: “There are three age groups — infant and junior school age, senior school age and over senior school age.

“We will pick two designs from each age group to go through to the final. The winner will receive a £25 shopping voucher, framed copy of their design and a t-shirt with their design printed on. Five finalists will each receive a £10 shopping voucher.”
