A SPRIGHTLY centenarian with a passion for ballroom dancing has died in hospital, aged 101.
Jessie Tittensor, of Denton, received telegrams from the Queen and Peter Hain MP, then minister for work and pensions, on her 100th birthday in December, 2007.
The feisty grandmother was at the head of celebrations to mark the reopening of Greenfield post office when it was threatened with closure, cutting a red ribbon with actor John Henshaw.
Mrs Tittensor’s funeral will take place at St Mary’s Church, Greenfield, on Thursday, at 1pm, followed by committal at Dukinfield Crematorium.
