Police net cannabis in raids

THREE men have been arrested and bailed after police recovered cannabis and equipment used for growing the drug in raids at four Oldham addresses.
A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis after officers searched a house in Brownhill Drive, Austerlands.
He has been bailed until June 5, pending further enquiries.
Six cannabis plants and growing equipment were also recovered from under the floorboards at a house in Lower Turf Lane.
Cannabis skunk was also discovered along with literature illustrating the drug-growing process.
Two men, aged 28 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
They have also been bailed until June 5 .
Cultivation equipment and cash was also recovered from a house in Gladstone Terrace Road, Greenfield, and Shelderslow, Springhead.
The searches are linked to the cannabis recovered from a house on Terrace Street on February 2.
Sergeant Robert Howarth from the operational support unit in Oldham said: “I hope these arrests show that no matter how creative people are in trying to conceal their criminal activities, we will still find them and are committed to bringing them to justice.
“We are getting more and more help from the community, which is vital.”
