A very happy birthday parade

AROUND 1,000 people took part in a colourful parade in Glodwick to celebrate the birthday of the prophet Mohammed.
Young and old took part in Sunday’s procession from Al Madina Mosque, Waterloo Street, to Queens Road.
The Milad-ul-Nabi celebrations continued with a meal hosted by Mohammed Rafiq, of Queens Road, which was attended by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Shoab Akhtar, Oldham East and Saddleworth MP Phil Woolas and councillors.
