Pond opening’s wild celebrations
Date published: 03 April 2009
SHAW youngsters got back to nature with the help of a few creepy crawlies. Pupils at Buckstones Primary were visited by a host of cockroaches, stick insects and snakes from Blackpool Zoo to celebrate the opening of the school’s £25,000 pond and nature area. The Friends of Buckstones group arranged fundraising activities to create the pond and events for the opening, which was attended by Latics star Chris Taylor.
