PATIENTS at the Royal Oldham Hospital will be sitting more comfortably now, thanks to a dozen new chairs bought by a group of fundraisers.
The hospital’s league of friends ran a series of events to raise enough money for six recliner chairs, each worth £935, for ward F6, as well as six chairs, worth £765 for relatives’ use in ward F2.
Chris Mylott, voluntary services manager at the hospital, said: “Staff in ward F6 were absolutely thrilled with the chairs. One patient said they were comfortable and easy to use.
“The hospital’s league of friends is always raising money through raffles, coffee mornings and other big events.”
