Saucy swimmer in breast stroke

EARLY morning swimmers at Oldham baths had a shock when a woman streaked topless around the pool — then refused to leave the gent’s changing rooms.

It is not known who or how old the woman was or what inspired her antics but she eventually left after police were called.

The bizarre stunt happened at 7.30am yesterday at Oldham Sports Centre, which boasts a learner pool, a six-lane swimming pool and a competition diving pool.

Initial reports suggested two men and a woman wearing tracksuits stripped naked and frolicked in the pool before engaging in lewd conduct in the changing rooms.

But a centre spokesman said no men were involved and the shenanigans were low key.

He said: “A young lady came in in the morning and decided to run around the pool topless.

“She went into the changing rooms on the male side and refused to leave until the police were called and then she disappeared before they arrived.

“She was just a paying member of the public.

“It was in the middle of a public session so there were a lot of people swimming. We reported it to the police because there was a scene and she refused to leave the changing rooms.

“It’s one of those incidents that you can’t pre-empt that it’s going to occur.

“It’s the first time something like this has happened.”

It’s the second time the Oldham public has witnessed inappropriate behaviour after two workers were spotted having sex in an office window at Henshaw House, Cheapside, last August.

The pair romped for so long that a crowd of 20 people gathered to watch and cheer. The 20-minute encounter only stopped when a PCSO went inside to let them know they were being observed.

They were suspended and both resigned in January.
