Egg-rolling fun at Tandle Hill

EASTER Sunday promises to be eggstra special thanks to Tandle Hill Country Park in Royton playing host to an egg-rolling competition for youngsters.
The event kicks off at 1.30pm when there will be prizes for those who roll their eggs the furthest. Children entering should bring their own hard-boiled eggs.
Later in the week there will be two fun events for families in the park organised by Oldham Council’s Parks & Countryside Service and Try-cycles, a social enterprise based in Oldham specialising in cycle training.
On Thursday, Dr Bike will be on hand to give advice on how to fix your bike and keep it in top working order.
Visitors should book for this event, which runs from 11 to 12.30pm, by ringing the Strinesdale Centre on 0161-620 8202.
Later the same day, between 1 and 3pm, there will be a chance to take part in an bike-based Easter treasure hunt around the park.
Those wishing to taking part should bring their own bike and helmets must be worn. Booking is essential as places are limited. Call the Strinesdale Centre on 0161-620 8202.
FIRST Choice Homes residents enjoyed an Easter eggs-travaganza complete with a bonnet parade and prize draws.
Dozens of partygoers from sheltered housing accommodation descended on Shaw Road Conservative Club for the Easter tea dance.
Prizes for the dance competition included shopping vouchers, digital Freeview boxes and Easter eggs.
SPRINGTIME fun was had at St Mark’s Church Hall, Heyside, during an Easter bonnet parade and egg hunt.
Youngsters decorated beautiful bonnets with ribbons and toy chicks and had a great time searching high and low during the egg hunt.
The event was organised by The Outreach Players, a drama group made up of Oldhamers who have a disability.
