Tribute gig for celebrity stylist
Date published: 10 April 2009
FRIENDS and family of a celebrated Hollins hairdresser will mark his death with a fundraising tribute night.
Brendan Sheehy had a long list of celebrity clients, such as Hillary Clinton, Julia Roberts and Kate Moss, when he lived and worked in New York.
The 35-year-old was also a keen musician and married Jackie Farry, tour manager of 1990s grunge band Nirvana and nanny to Frances Bean, the daughter of the band’s singer Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
When he found out he had cancer last year, Brendan’s family insisted he move back home from New York. He died at the Royal Oldham Hospital of multi-organ failure earlier this year.
More than 300 people from Britain, Europe and America attended Brendan’s funeral and there were candlelight vigils held by friend’s across the world.
His family have organised a tribute gig at Jackson’s Pit tomorrow to celebrate his life. There will be a raffle with prizes including tickets to see Razorlight, Basement Jaxx and McFly.
Proceeds from the night will go towards a headstone for Brendan as well as a local charity.
